ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the uncertainty of how colleges and universities are strategically adapting their current curriculums to meet the real-world business requirements and expectations of students who are entering the workforce. It addresses the question of how well university curriculums are faring to business requirements and the variance between college and the real world. The research was conducted by reviewing the literature of past research articles that had conducted a similar study to obtain information and process it to an application to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) College of Business and Security Management. It finds that Colleges are adapting to the ever-changing business environment and the world in the modern age around the nation by monitoring the needs and expectations of businesses of the students entering the workforce to further prepare and ensure that the students are adequately prepared for their new jobs. The research findings imply that other students can benefit from the research by sticking to the end and obtaining their degree and obtaining the benefits of knowledge, experience, networking, and friendships along the way.
