ABSTRACT

This paper explores the realm of marketing, focusing on ever-changing marketing strategies due to the proliferation of technology, their adaptation to changing times, and their effect on entrepreneurship. It addresses the question of how marketing approaches have evolved over different time periods and how they are influenced by the societal, economic, and business environments of the time. This paper employs a method of literature review and historical analysis, tracing marketing development from early ancient history to the present, as well as proposing solutions to the challenges of marketing in the future based on current trajectories. It covers traditional marketing strategies through to contemporary digital marketing. The analysis highlights how marketing is a fluid and dynamic field, evolving to respond to the ever-changing shifts in consumer behavior and technological developments. Despite this dynamic nature, the paper also recognizes the cornerstones of marketing—elements that do not change over time. Through the implications outlined in this paper, modern-day marketers can draw valuable insights from the past to better inform their present-day marketing decisions and make wise choices regarding upcoming marketing shifts and the ethics surrounding the future.
